Nine members from the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills recently returned from Cusco, Peru.  During their visit, they completed three projects for two local schools (Huillcapata School and Chicuchas Wasi School) which educate young girls ages 11 and younger.  “You can’t help but come back different” said Dot Dustin, “It’s emotional and rewarding when you see what an impact you are making for these young girls.”

Nine members from the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills recently returned from Cusco, Peru.  During their visit, they completed three projects for two local schools (Huillcapata School and Chicuchas Wasi School) which educate young girls ages 11 and younger.

Some of the projects club members completed were rebuilding a greenhouse, building four compost bins and rebuilding a floor and roof in one of the classrooms.  During their trip, they also helped to plow fields, repair furniture, paint and repair a carport.  Upon their return, all agreed it was an amazing experience.  “You can’t help but come back different” said Dot Dustin, “It’s emotional and rewarding when you see what an impact you are making for these young girls.”

During this week’s (November 5th) evening Rotary Club meeting, a special slideshow will be presented describing their trip and experiences.  Guests who are interested in learning more about their trip and the Lake in the Hills Rotary are welcome to attend.  This week’s meeting will be held at Moretti’s in Lake in the Hills from 7pm to 8pm.

The Lake in the Hills Rotary Club is a volunteer organization of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service and build goodwill in our community and internationally.
