A real team approach to Service above Self...

The Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills, together with Jacobs High School Interact Club spent the afternoon tying no-sew blankets to be donated to Phil's Friends, a 501(c3) nonprofit organization in Roselle, IL. This organization provides Christ-centered support and hope to those affected by cancer through the distribution of a Care Package-a small gift of hope, carefully hand-packed by volunteers at their Hope Center and sent to individuals battling cancer. Care Packages come in different varieties, depending on the recipient. Each one is filled with items that are practical, comforting and entertaining. Hundreds are distributed every month. They are shipped across the nation from their Hope Center in Roselle, IL or personally delivered to hospital patients by their Hope to Hospitals team. This is the 2nd year teaming up with the Interact club and the 4th year the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills has donated the blankets. 98 blankets were finished in all and we even got a visit from Phil himself! Special thanks goes out to the staff at Joanne Fabrics and Crafts in Algonquin, IL for all of their help selecting and cutting the material. This was a big job that took two full weekends to complete. Ladies, we couldn't have done it without you.
